Voluntary Action Sheffield

Voluntary Action Sheffield (VAS) is a charity that supports local voluntary and community organisations by providing a wide range of services, including specialist services, advice and training to over 900 voluntary and community organisations in Sheffield each year.

VAS also promotes and supports volunteering in the city, running the Sheffield Volunteer Centre, and supports network and partnership working so that voluntary and community organisations can contribute to Sheffield's development, work and services.

VAS offers a wide range of professional support services, including;

"Community Accountancy & Payroll Service
Supports financial management capacity through specialist support, advice, information and training. Also offer independent examinations, and a comprehensive payroll service.

Managed Email Service
A professional, secure and fully supported email package, with anti virus and anti spam protection. The service allows organisations and groups to have a professional and supported email system that can be accessed anywhere with an internet connection.

Human Resources Advisory Service
A professional HR service for organisations requiring support around HR matters. There are a range of packages available, including HR consultancy, an annual subscription package and an outsourcing service.

Legal Advisory Service
Specialist information, advice and training on charity law and legal matters relevant to the voluntary and community sector.

Training
Offers a comprehensive training programme to develop skills and knowledge of staff and volunteers in the local voluntary and community sector, in order to build capacity and effectiveness of groups and organisations.

Procurement Support Service
Provides support and advice to sector organisations that are looking to deliver public services and to win competitive contracts.

The Circle
The Circle is a conference and events space in the heart of Sheffield city centre, offering high quality rooms and office accommodation. Volunteer Centre Sheffield
Provides information about volunteering opportunities in Sheffield, and promotes good practice in managing volunteers through advice, support and training.

Planning & Partnership
Supports a number of networks so that voluntary and community groups can have an integral in planning, developing and delivering local services in the fields of health, children and young people, older people, supported housing and social care.
